Mother Marie McCoy

Mother Marie was born October 27, 1927 to the Late Ishman and Erie B. Coleman.  She departed this life on February 18, 2023.  She accepted Christ at an early age at the Long Creek missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Richardson.  She received her early years of education in Georgiana and Greenville, Alabama.  She moved to Toledo, Ohio in the late Forties where she met and married Sester McCoy and to this union two sons were born, Warren and Michael. She worked hard to receive her nursing degree and became a LPN.  She worked over forty years.  She relocated back to Georgiana in 1998 and reunited with Long Creek Missionary Baptist Church where she worked hard with all auxiliaries.  She was proceeded in death by her mother, father, husband Sester McCoy, sons, Michael and Warren McCoy, five brothers and one sister. 

She leaves to cherish her memories, one brother, Clifford (Creola) Coleman of Winter Haven, Florida; two sisters Clarine Young and Mary Natt of Toledo, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Michael McCoy, Jr. (Letishi) of Atlanta, GA;  Shavonne McCoy, Dayton, OH; Shamika Hurdle Marvelle), Chicago, IL; Rodney McCoy, Los Angles, CA; Jade McCoy, Georgiana, AL; Emerald McCoy, Los Angels, CA; Christopher McCoy, Toledo, OH; nine great-grand children, two daughter-in-laws, Roxanne McCoy and Leneta McCoy; Special Aunt Elousie Coleman; Aunt Alean Warfield, two sister-in-laws, Patricia Coleman and Alice; Loving cousins Minister Henry and Carrie Hawthorne; cousins, Clem, Lillie, and Curly; one long time friend Sis. Myree Gandy and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
